Spring Golden Restaurant, Shah Alam

Very, very old post....I was at Spring Golden Restaurant a few months back.
My brother wanted to introduce to me another char siew place in Shah Alam. Since we went to Meng Kee, I wonder where we'll go this time..
When we parked right in front of the restaurant, I exclaimed Oh, we are eating at Spring Golden!
My brother looked so disappointed that I almost laugh out loud. I've never tried before, just that I've read in WMW's blog before, I assured him.
We had some dumplings and wantans to start the meal..The dumplings were large and the filling had a nice spring to it. The wantans were even lovelier than the dumplings as the filling was a tad different. Yummy yummy. Most unfortunately, I've forgotten to take the picture of the wantans :(.
We had some roasted pork and roasted duck..Both are average. Roasted pork was somewhat dry though the skin was crunchy. The duck was ok, I find the skin not fragrant enough.
And the star...char siew..
It's called crystal char siew as the char siew is coated with a thin layer of crisp caramel. We ordered the pun fei sau, but were served lean instead. Not as tender as Seremban favourites, but delicious nonetheless.
Spring Golden Restaurant is located at 3, Jalan Peniaga U1/34, Hicom Glenmarie, Industrial Park, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangor.

oh...the sakura char siew! yummy looking! yeah, when it comes to char siew, i think seremban favourite serves one of the softest meat in town. lurve that hakka mee as well.

Even though the restaurant opens until late evening, it's best to go in the morning or early afternoon. "Early Bird Catches the GOOD worm."

Wah, you really remember the name?

There's a stall also selling roasted pork and char siew somewhere in Paramount Garden that has nice caramelised but a bit hard skin char siew.

But I still love FSF :p

i've ate spring golden rest char siew whenever i go to the warehouse which is nearby. but you really must try their 'pun fei sau' since they gave u the lean part. cos it does really melt in your mouth.

Haha...bet your bro must be really disappointed when he thought his surprise is no longer a surprise when you recognized Spring Golden...haha...so much for party pooper...

mimid3vils: this was ok, not overly sweet..

sf: abnerd and dragon girl darn fit, dont need to swim before char siew.. i'm the only one that needs to :(

I went following wmw's recommendation. Still prefer Meng Kee char siu. I tried the chicken and roast pork which i can sum up as forgettable. Only the char siu not too bad. I had the sakura version as normal char siu sold out.

Can't really pick one, both are different but one thing for sure is that I have not eaten at Meng Kee since I found FSF and Spring Golden.
