Super Crab Aroma Seafood Restaurant, Taman Bukit Mayang Emas

Sometimes, when we are so focused on our routine, creatures of habit that we are; we tend to ignore some new things around us.

Super Crab Aroma is located just next to Wong Poh; the famous restaurant serving creamy butter crabs that I've always patronised..
While Wong Poh's tables were all occupied, Super Crab's just had a few table of customers. Heck, I never even noticed it's existence...

Are you sure This is the restaurant Ryan said? I asked Lily as we walked towards the restaurant.
Yes, she whispered, her eyes darting left and right, reassuring herself that it's the right restaurant. Ryan and his friends were running late, we were supposed to meet him here.

So in we went and the friendly owner ushered us to a table.
Ordering was quick as Ryan already recommend some dishes to us..
Must remember to order the stir fried octopus with chilli, Lily has been muttering under her breath when we were driving there..

Obviously, that was our first order..Am very glad she did. This was utterly lip smacking! The baby octopus had this wonderful texture; springy and firm sweet flesh. Not chewy at all. Stir fried with cili padi (bird's eye chilli), garlic and crunchy dried shrimps, this is scrumptious and very addictive. Had to refrain myself from finishing this dish before Ryan and friends arrives..sigh..

Didnt want to have rice, we decided to order fried thong fun instead As this dish had good wok hei, we enjoyed this very much too. Again, I need to refrain myself from eating too much as I still need to save tummy space for crabs. The dudes had fried rice, which I did not manage to take a picture of..they were so hungry that they attacked the fried rice the moment it was placed on the table.. *tsk tsk..where are your manners guys?hahaha*

Some vegetables to balance out our diet..Hehe..Fresh, crunchy, sweet veg. Tasty.

Finally, the star of the night..Crabs..We had the sweet and spicy crab..This was one huge crab, very fresh; the flesh was so succulent, sweet and juicy. The crab meat was so thick that it's really enjoyable sinking my teeth into it. One of the best local crabs I've tried so far.
And some fried man tau to dunk into the sauce. Delicious.
My fave for the night..The nai yau hai (butter milk crab). Thick, creamy, fragrant sauce enveloping the crab. My first taste of the sauce and I'm in heaven. The creamy sauce, the hint of curry leaves, the bits of garlic works wonders to the palate. I dare say, this sauce is better than Wong Poh's *gasp*.
And they are generous with the sauce, we dont need to ask for extras. At Wong Poh, the sauce is so measly, we'd always end up asking for extras and they'll always charge us for that..hhmmpphh
Our total bill was RM200 for the 5 of us. The 2 crabs weight about 2.5kg, at RM55/kg, is rather costly. But it's one that I'll willingly pay for.
Super Crab Aroma Seafood Restaurant is located at 40, Jalan BM 1/2, Taman Bukit Mayang Emas, 47301 PJ. Tel: 03-7880 9793. Oh, do give them a call if you want to have huge local crabs. Some days, they may only have average sized crabs. I had the Pulau Ketam crabs, which the owner said; it had the most sien flesh.
