Restoran Ahanthai, Bandar Puteri Puchong

Went to Ahanthai on a stormy evening; it was raining cats and dogs, but we braved the weather as Gary had already planned to bring us to this restaurant.
A simple thai restaurant, informal dining which serves a mix of thai and chinese dishes.
We quickly choose our dishes..it was cold and we wanted some hot food to warm our bellies fast!
First, some piping hot tomyum..
The soup was on the thick side; was more on spicy sweet tomyum. Not really my cup of tea as I prefer thinner salty spicy tomyum. It was still passable nonetheless.
The green curry..
Thick and creamy, this was opposite of the tomyum. It was too salty :(. Cant take too much of it unless we have it with loads of rice..
Food dont seem to be too promising and gary was rather disappointed..it was very yummy when he patronised Ahanthai a few months back..
We braced ourselves when they placed a plate of stir fried bitter gourd with salted egg..
And we were pleasantly surprised! This was fantastic! Really delicious, the gourd were sliced to thin strips, cooked in perfect wok hei with tiny morsels of salted egg coating each gourd strip.
The pandan chicken next..
Juicy, tender and well marinated. Pretty tasty.
Last dish, which we waited quite long for..
Steamed fish with lime and chillies..
The fish was fresh and sweet; matched prettily with the sour spicy soup-sauce base. Quite good too.
Overall, it was an ok meal for us; some hits and some misses; but all of us agreed that the stir fried bitter gourd was the favourite.
Restoran Ahanthai is located at 28, Jalan Puteri 1/4, Bandar Puteri Puchong, 47301 Selangor.
