Beguiling Bali..Part 2

Yes, after being missing for a while, I'm back!
Since I have not post for some time now, obviously there's lots of photos in my 'cold storage' waiting to see the light.. but I figured I better finish writing on Bali, else I may take a few months just to finish my post on Bali!

Kintanmani- Gunung Batur and Lake BaturWe had to travel up to Kintamani to see the breathtaking active volcano Gunung Batur and Lake Batur..The picturesque view was simply amazing, some even claimed that it's heaven on earth. We had lunch at Batur Sari, food was mediocre (i didnt even take any pixs of it) but the view (and the cool air caressing your face) from the restaurant is worth every rupiah..hehe

Pura Batur

It was very near to Kintamani, hence we decided to pop over. Most unfortnately, we had such a bad experience there! Especially for WF, am sure she was complaining when she returned to Msia. We were about to enter the unmanned temple when a group of local ladies started blocking our entrance, saying that we need to buy sash and sarung from them if we are to enter. I was told that as long as we dress decently (ie, with long pants and blouse) we can enter. Well, we unwilling rented some unnecessary sarongs (which was not required when we visited other manned temples!!) and sash. And the view was not that nice...:-(

Tirta Empul ( Taman Suci)
This has got to be my favourite place in Bali. Maybe not as well known, but I am amazed with what I saw in the middle of the temple.. The Kolam Suci (sacred pool) was so serene and beautiful..The colours in the pool was a burst of sapphire blue, bright green and ash grey, all contrasting and complementing. Words cant describe my feeling when I saw this. And yes, it's all naturel...

Uluwatu
Uluwatu is another famous touristy spot in Bali. Famed for it's temple which is located at the edge of the cliff, it also has Kecak Dance performance (not on daily, please check) during sunset. It's really wonderful to sit and enjoy the kecak (and fire) dance while sitting next to the cliff, taking in the breathtaking view and enjoying the sunset. Take note though, Uluwatu has loads of wild monkeys that snatches your belongings. In order to get it back; no, you dont feed it with bananas, you'll need to pay the monkey's owners..yes, talk about commercialism..

Kuta and Legian
So famous, do I need to write bout this? Surfer dudes and bikini babes hang out at this cool beach.. learn how to surf here or just chill at the beach and get a lovely tan...

Paddy fields

There's paddy fields every where..Like what Bollywood Queen said, in Malaysia, most houses have a garden..In Bali, most houses have a paddy field...That said, it's very lovely :)
Galungan and Kuningan Festival
I planned my Bali trip in order to get a glimpse on the huge festival celebrated in Bali, ie, the Galungan and Kuningan Festival. Celebrated for 10 days, you may miss some good food though as some eateries and shops are closed during this festival. Most of the roads are decorated with penjols ; and the locals will dress in their best costume, with fruits and offerings stacked high on their heads, making their way to the temples. Eye opening and very interesting.
Well, that wraps up most of the places I've visited.. yes, most.. there's still some other places I went (for shopping and quick stopover), which I dont think I need to write..Overall, a good break for me :)
